Teaching Assistant in Spain

Teaching Assistant in Spain (TAS) offers USA college graduates the chance to spend an academic year (from late September/early October to May) as teaching assistants in private K-12 schools located throughout the Autonomous Communities of Andalusia and Madrid.

Responsibilities

Participants will assist the English Department teaching staff for a maximum of 20 hours per week. Although specific responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of each school, participants may expect to help out in the design and implementation of language and culture activities for English classes or for cross-curricular programs involving other departments.

Compensation

Schools will award each participant a minimum monthly 700€ stipend.

Eligibility

Basic requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (in any major)
• Native level of communication in English according to the ACTFL Proficiency Scale
• Advance level of communication in Spanish, or above, according to the ACTFL Proficiency Scale

Recommended (but not required) background:

• Teaching experience at any level
• Professional or volunteering experience involving children
• Experience abroad (study, volunteer, work, or extensive travel)
