About JYS:
JYS in Virginia

The JYS office is located at Sweet Briar College, in central Virginia.

María Celeste Delgado-Librero is the program director. She is a native Spaniard and a graduate of the University of Seville. In 1990 she was at SBC as an exchange student and later on she attended the University of Virginia, where she obtained her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Spanish Literature. In 2007, after a few years teaching in the Spanish section of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at SBC, she became the director of JYS. As director, she oversees all aspects of the program on both sides of the ocean, so she spends time in both places. If she does not fly with you to Spain at the beginning of the semester, you will meet her in Seville at some point during orientation.

Toni Hudson is the assistant to the director and has been at JYS since 2003. You may never meet Toni, but she is one of the two helpful voices you will hear when you call the office. She and Helen share many duties in the office, but Toni is responsible for the website and any other computer-related issues.

Helen Grose is the office manager and the owner of the other helpful voice you will become quite familiar with. Helen has worked at JYS since 1988 and knows more about the program than anyone else. In addition to just about anything else, along with Toni, Helen takes care of the financial issues of JYS.
